There’s nothing positive about holding a grudge, especially in the business world because grudges produce negative feelings and results.
Seth Godin, in a recent post, rightly put it this way:
Whatever is causing the grudge, he continues, whether it is competition, technology or what someone said or did years ago, “none of it is going to get better as a result of revisiting the grudge.”
This is why in Vested we encourage the use of neutral third parties to help with buyer-supplier disputes in a fast, timely manner. Having someone who can look at a situation objectively and dispassionately will help point the way to what is “fair” for all parties.
It will free you to “let go” and “move on” so that you can open your hands (and minds) for more productive and satisfying work.
